To all, the maxims of the myth thread

For whatever reason this thread was started, this thread attracted certain cynical individuals. For those who wanted to joining us, I thought I will give a gist of this thread.

Perhaps the best name of this thread will be Cynics 'R Us: But that doesn't matter. The 12 maxims (subject to change without notice -g-) of this thread are:

1. We are cynical of the Federal Reserve and their henchman who are so gracious in bailing-out every entity that is an irresponsible market participant, provided it is big enough!

2. We are cynical of every company management who spend more time touting the stock than doing their primary business.

3. We are cynical of the market strategists who rate the market at 30+ PE, growing at -3% a "horse manure buy"

4. We are distrustful of the analysts who rate (tout) their picks a "super-duper-strong buy" with such silly explanations as xyz at 200 PE is cheap relative to Yahoo which has a PE of 2000.

5. We do not like Michael Dells and Tom Meridiths of the world whose primary business is to tout and sell stock and "manage" street expectations.

6. We are cynical of the "new-era" and the mantra that old metrics to evaluating stocks are no longer valid.

7. We are tired of listening to the crap that how great Dell's business model is and how they will inherit the earth in the next 5 years.

8. We are sick of listening to the crapola that assuming debt to buy back shares is a good thing.

9. We do not believe in the assertion that Feds are not involved in propping-up the financial markets.

10. We too know how many people live in China and India. Unlike many touts, we happen to think that to sell a can of coke per hour or a PC and a lap-top a year to every single one of them ain't as easy as they would like us to believe.

11. We happen to think that IMF is an entity that will better serve if it is abolished.

12. We are loath to brown-nosing, cheerleading and such. We will not treat the chearleaders kindly.

You don't have to agree with all of these maxims of the Myth Thread. But that should give you the drift on the essence of this thread. Before you try to waste your time or our time in getting to know each other, put yourself to the following test.

1. Do you belive that Bill Clinton is the Greatest President ever.
2. Michael Dell is a honest business man and he does not tout Dell stock.
3. Microsoft is not a monopoly and it is an innovative company.

If your answer is yes to either one of these 3 questions, you are too naive for us. Chances are that you can't take the heat around here and your and our time will be better spent if you spend your time elsewhere other than this thread.

If you think this is a place for you to hang your hat, there are two major requirements:

1. You should have a thick-skin to take a joke.
2. You should have a sense of humor.

Of course, the major issue we have disagreements on is the topic of this thread:

Is BK a myth? -g-
