To imagine that 500 Million out of the 2.2 B people in India and China are possible buyers of computers is just way out.

I grew up in India and visit every year and folks in my family, which would be considered upper middle class to rich, are just buying computers now. Even so, Rs 25,000 ($600) for a barebones P166 Mmx , without monitor, machine, is nothing to sneeze at. Add to that the rip off for internet connectivity ( very expensive, lousy service, monopoly) and the ramp up in computer buying is not so obvious.
