<You should talk?
Actually, yes, she should. While I disagree with many of her expressed opinions, she is at least rational, for this thread quite polite, and her postings are usually devoid of personal insults. For a time this thread, amazingly enough, actually had some polite, reasoned, and intelligent exchanges. Unfortunately, gator couldn't stand this, but apparently felt the need to destroy rational discourse by personal insults, professional insults, and the posting of simply irrational spewings of his twisted "mind." (If memory serves, I think he was suspended from SI for a while, but that may be a memory born of hope rather than actuality. If so, anyhow, it was a while ago.) Unfortunately, others proved willing to respond in kind (I admit to my own brief crawl in his gutter before I regained my maturity) and the thread degenerated into what it is today. He several times promised to leave us, which offered the opportunity to return to the earlier standard we enjoyed, but he turned out to have lied to us. Finally I realized that responding to him only egged him on, and now hope that the best way to get rid of him is not to give him the satisfaction of argument.
The point being, that Rose Rose is one of the people I would enjoy resurrecting intelligent discourse with if we can ever get this thread back to that level. So please don't drive her away. She may not agree with our positions, but what is the point of discussion if the only people here all agree with each other. That's of no interest to me. I welcome Rose Rose, Michelle, and any other posters of liberal (or illiberal) views who post rationally and responsibly. |
