Sun buy Apple is big decision, but I believe that is very strategic merger against WINTEL. Sun is moving to Server area to keep product margin high, but need to keep Unix disktop market.
Apple had install base more than Sun. Also recent NeXT aquision by Apple meant Apple will have Unix OS. Sun never employee NT from Microsoft nor support WINTEL market, otherwise Sun will loose their market leadership in Unix area, so that Buy Apple is very strategic for Sun to be play in Unix arena. There is no company to buy for Sun other than Apple, They can not buy anyone in WINTEL player. Now Apple market value become $16 which is $7 less than what Sun offer last year.
I think now is last chance Sun to buy Apple, and must help Apple in future otherwise Apple will keep declining position in market.
