mr.mark, I can delete without opening e-mail on old computer also with win95,nscp 4.5. Here's how I have it configured in Window Setting. Not sure if this is the place to make the changes.

Mail & NewsGroups
Window Settings

Choose which layout you prefer for messenger window. ( I have the first one dotted)

Double clicking a folder or a newsgroup opens it in a new window (Checked)

Opens newsgroups in a messenger window (Checked)

Other options not checked.

Try single click only, not double click.

Gosh, I hope one of these works, Otherwise??????

My e-mail never opens until I click on Open Message. I only get the one drop down window.
