Announcement on deal with Perot Systems for billing system. There's news on the wire today about WinStar hiring Perot Systems to develop a customer focused billing system. Here's a piece of it: "WinStar and Perot Systems are jointly developing an advanced 'customer centric' billing system," added Jamie Bullen, Chief Information Officer of WinStar Telecommunications. "Unlike other telephone companies, we do not have any type of legacy billing systems to re-engineer. We are in the enviable position of designing and building, what I consider, the ultimate billing and customer care system which delivers three essential services: intimate knowledge of our customers' current status, integration of local and long distance service, Internet and other data services, and operational excellence. We believe a state-of-the-art customer satisfaction system will give WinStar a substantial advantage in servicing the needs of our customers."
