Your bias on Acer is little too obvious (try reading a little past the headlines):

They only stopped selling through retail stores -- they are moving to a Dell model:

"sales of its retail family of computers would now be conducted mainly
through the Internet -- a rising trend among U.S. customers to buy directly from the manufacturer."

''We will continue to promote our own brand in the United States through selling computers over the Internet,'' Wang said.

''We also will continue to actively invest in U.S. high-technology firms so that we can get early involvement to develop related new products,'' added.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- In a bid to turn
around three years of heavy losses, Acer Inc.,Taiwan's largest computer maker, will stop selling its personal computers in U.S. stores, opting instead to sell them directly over the Internet, the company said Tuesday.

Acer's U.S. subsidiary, Acer America Corp., will focus more on sales to small-and medium-sized businesses, including schools and government agencies, the company said in a statement, noting its sales to business customers soared 63 percent last year.

Your post said this (looks a little motivated does it not?)

NOT GOOD AS THEY SAY:
guess Arif ran for cover after they (probably) fired him at ACER, happy to get a job: read WSJ today page B 5 : ACER PLANS TO HALT SALES IN U.S. STORES AFTER HUGE LOSSES.........
What a recommendation.....
Any comment??????????????????????????????

Remember, I think all the pure plays are interesting including VLNC, so try to be at least somewhat objective in your analysis of events at competitors. If you weren't trying to influence opinion here you wouldn't have a problem doing this--you would be encouraging analysis instead to add value to your stock selection.
