I believe everything about inets is uncertain. Thats why they carry a high premium...and that is why Lycos lost its premium on the buyout by a non inet company.

Short termI trade AMZN based on the volatility,I don't really care about the earnings much.

Long term, I (my husband) holds AMZN for its potential earnings...

I hate their retail model. I hate it. But if internet retailing is the future - and it is - then AMZN is in the winning position....
