Here is some DD for you guys. I saw that this company was in Nashville and I live here so I went by. I got some great information about the history and the products they sell. I also sat down with the CEO.
First The NASCAR connection. On the literature they distribute for the Model AO7, it says it it used by Geoff Bodine Racing, Jasper Motersports, Roush Racing, Butch Mock Motorsports and Presicion Products Racing.
I was given literature on two models. The AO7 is for the automotive industry. It is under the Microphonics Umbrella. It can detect leaks, monitor engine components, detect electrical shortage problems, detect drive train/ chassis problems and misc. noises. It can pinpoint the problem within 1/8 of an inch.
The Model 111R is mainly for industrial applications but it looks like it does about the same things. It is under the Ultraphonics umbrella.
There are three separate companies under MRPS: Ultraphonics, Microphinics and SoundLogic.
SoundLogic is the division that develops software to support the other two units.
This technology was developed by a German engineer for the United States Army and was used for exclusively for Military applications until 1989. MRPS had an agreement with the German engineer and his company that if they could not meet production, MRPS could manufacture the units themselves. This option was excercised in 1990 by Mr. Gayle. The German engineer and his company also failed to properly file their U.S. patent documents thus allowing Mr. Gayle and his associates to modify and improve the device. It has gone through three upgrades to its current model.
I met with Mr. Gayle. He seemed like a great guy and believes in his product. I don't know when a press release will be out and Mr. Gayle did not tell me but I do think it will be before Monday and I do think it will be big news.
Just my opinion. For everyones info, this is the first time I have posted to any stock board. It looks like this company is going places.
Also a little clarification on the devices. There seem to be some confusion earlier on SI about who would want it, dealers or manufacturers. The answer is both. They are both handheld devices. One can be used to evaluate the manufacturing equiptment itself and one can be used to evaluate an automobile. They are two different applications with the same technology. I could see this product on the shelves of automotive part stores as well as industrial supply houses HVAC equipt. ect. |
