Michael....I'm not the absolutely most experienced...but I'm sure that each brokerage is different.

I'm with Ameritrade.....don't recommend them....$29 for options trades plus $1.50/contract.....but they let me sell naked puts, etc....and I just have to have margin available to cover the exercise at the strike price. As you probably know, it's uncommon, almost rare, but it happens....that someone will exercise on you before the expiry date...so you have to be prepared.

I like the sage, Herm, and some of the others' advice...the ones who have done lots of trading...and they say...DON't do it on Margin...only use margin for finishing up the odd-lots, etc....
