I admit this is a strange company. Look at the big non-cash charges on the company's income statement. With most companies that have big goodwill amortization, people add that back to the reported eps to get what they call "cash earnings". I was looking at an internut stock called VerticalNet. A lot of stuff about stock valuations in this nutty market is about how a stock is labeled and packaged to the public. I heard on tv that an ipo is coming which is a website specifically for women - they can call it a "portal" and that will be worth about $100 million extra in valuation. Only problem for the internuts is that they need to aggregate the users and win them over to have ANYTHING. My sense is that DTLN is morphing into that sort of a mold. I have no idea where the stock will be in 6 months, but it would be a cinch for them to make web communities with chat features, discussion boards on various ag topics, etc. They then become the "AG Portal" and Robbie Stephens comes out and says it deserves a 50 multiple on year 2007 revenues. At least, I hope the mgt. is aware of the direction of technology and how information will be delivered, even to rural areas, in the future.
