THOROFARE, N.J., Feb 24 (Reuters) - Checkpoint Systems
Inc., a provider of security systems to prevent theft at
retailers, said Wednesday it is exploring strategic
alternatives, including possible mergers or acquisitions.
The company added that it has retained J.P. Morgan & Co. as
a financial advisor to help it analyze the playing field.
Checkpoint declined to specify which companies it would be
looking at, but said its base business of auto identification
has room for expansion.
