Hi Snorkel:

Vescan faces a difficult situation in the NWT. According to Government, the Vescan matter is handled by Bill Whittle and he is aware what Vescan is required to do to satisfy the environmental obligation it has to the Government of Canada (DIAND) pursuant to the Land Use Regulations as described in the Land Use Permit. He has been informed by DIAND as to the permit time line and the time line to access the site. The permit expires May 29, 1999 but access becomes very much more difficult (expensive) after March 15, 1999 when the Government ice road closes.

I comment on Vescan's Land Use Permit and on the Land Use Regulations because each are public records and details are available to the General public from DIAND at Yellowknife.

Further comment on this matter is reserved to the directors from Vescan unless Government provides more information.

Trevor
