I was reading about many of these internet E-commerce companies the other day. . . the story showed that in a float of say 2 million shares, 1.5 million were held short.

Sort of lends credibility to all my harping about shorts controlling the movement of so much of the "fun" stocks these days. I mean, name me some stocks that can't help but go up day after day after day. . . it is no longer happening.

Unless we are in Lucent or ATHM or MSFT, the safest place right now is in the beaten downs and the event-driven swings. Stocks that sell from 8 to 80 [very generally speaking] are not performing well. Pennies have more interest than I have seen in a while. And the tiny stuff that gets discovered are like sure things these days. . .provided you remember to SELL them and take your profits and move on at some point. . .holding them forever is not the way they are intended to be played.
