Thread: wanted to share my disappointment about the new G3 line. I've been a Mac afficionado for the past ten years. Even our office is outfitted entirely with Macs (about a dozen). Recently, I was deciding between buying an CPU upgrade board (G3/266MHz/1Mcache) for my nearly-obsolete 7500/604/120MHz PPC vs. buying a brand-new G3. It was a no brainer... the new G3 is an utterly useless piece of junk. Aside from its horrendous mouse and keyboard, the reasons: none of the four versions available in Hong Kong have internal modems. No external modems are available either, because of USB. Ditto for laser printers - none have USB. Result: can't access the web nor print without resorting to a jumble of overpriced peripheral devices designed to overcome the incompatibilities. What a pain!

Shame on AAPL for wasting its resources on manufacturing this utterly useless machine.

The $500k+ of AAPL I own will definitely be sold at resistance (around $39) at the next available opportunity. The G3 is a real dud.
