What's so hot about network business? It's not growing anywhere near that rate - more like 20%.

It's not about the network business per se. For Q the growth of CDMA is the key. If we get a converged standard then obviously our mkt is going to explode, royalties, equipment and consumer devices, whether they're handsets or something else. We only have to capture a reasonable portion of that mkt to have tremendous success. I suppose your argument is that for one reason or another this won't happen.

CDMA will outperform GSM in a data filled environmrnt which is why all the 3G will use CDMA as the air interface. Whatever advantages GSM may have in terms of performance will disappear, data will eat increassing amounts of capacity. Read that Andersen Consulting report again.. You just brush all this stuff off with some standby times and larger screens.

As has been said before, these companies have different models. Hopefully Q will become as profitable as Nokia.

What are your thoughts on the liklihood of an ERICY/QCOM settlement/alliance and how such a partnership might affect Nolia's competitive position?
