A friend of mine manages a +$500 million pension fund. I was asking him about some specific stocks one day. There was one I particularly liked. I had purchased it at $31, and it had risen from $31 to $50 dollars in about 3 months. He said that he and the other fund managers he knows would never purchase that stock because is had a such a small float. It could easily be manipulated and you just never know the motivations of the major shareholders. I have to say that prior to this discussion, I was concerned about the large number of outstanding shares that Bid.Com had. It then made sense as to why Altamira and some other funds were buying these shares. I believe that a larger float will provide some price stability over the long term. By the way, the 50 dollar stock is now worth $28. It dropped like a rock within a few weeks. I sold out at $46. Crazy "and still sick" Canuk
