The internet guys are trying to sell a story that a way to calculate value for .com stocks is to count cookies (you get a "cookie" sent to you each time you hit a web page... you can adjust options in your browser so that you are prompted each time one comes in or to decline all cookies; if you select either you will find your access to the web severely limited). So (get this, guys) the .com stocks are supposed to be valued at revenue (not earnings) per cookie. So if Netcom has collected x million cookies from n users (or conversely has place a cookie on y pc's), one could divide the count into revenue and get some strange multiple.
