My eyes must have glazed over when reading the article and I completely missed the reference you cited ...

susan.

welcome to the board. if not aboard (yet).

chalk up the dell announcement and 'subsequent' dip to my bad posting timing. as you become a siberhead, you'll eventually learn not to misinterpret news posted here as 'new' news. naturally, i still occasionally experience the feeling. i mean, i read it and it's definitely new to me, but of course, it's not to the market.

i believe netapp and the rest of the techs were simply taken down with the naz during the afternoon slide.

for your info, dell actually released two storage-related annoucements tue afternoon (not wed) and my post was simply a news wire recap. the dell-netapp OEM agreement was first announced in nov:

Dell and Network Appliance Announce OEM Agreement
Companies Team to Address the Rapidly Expanding Network Attached Storage Market
netapp.com

another OEM followed with fujitsu:

Fujitsu Announces Japan OEM Agreement With Network Appliance
Partnership to Deliver Enterprise Information Solutions to Customers in the Rapidly Growing Network Attached Storage Market
netapp.com

hope this helps,
-chris.
