The Network Connection, Inc. Contracted To Integrate TrainView(R) Into Alstom Train Design
ALPHARETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--The Network Connection, Inc. (TNCi) (Nasdaq: TNCX), announced today the receipt of an engineering design contract from Alstom Transport Limited (ATL), a unit of ALSTOM SA (NYSE: ALS), to cover continued efforts to incorporate the design of TrainView, TNCi's advanced Infoactive Business and Entertainment System, into Alstom's concept train design.
The TrainView all-digital system proposed is an adaptation of TNCi's existing system currently installed for various in-flight and cruise customers. The system delivers personal interactive entertainment, video/audio on demand, E-Commerce for shopping, event booking, Internet and business services to the seat through TNCi's TransPORTAL applications.
In what could be the world's first mobile web portal, the TrainView system is an in-seat video and audio enabled Intranet enhanced by integrated applications for ground communications, sales of advertising, content management and transaction processing.
