It's very interesting. The most bullish thing has occurred and no one cares. SR comes out and gives substantial and exciting information that should have 'em lined up, but where are the pundits, the advisors, the guys who think they know about what works? Nowhere to be found. The world beats a path away from your door when you build the better mousetrap. This occurs because to succeed requires taking risks on the unknown. Technology companies rarely know how to take risk. They've learned this through taking bad risks on poor concepts.
The illiterati will come and come later dependent upon the stupidity and lazy unmotivated attitudes of their clients, then they can look very clever for having seen the way. Smart guys. They just fool the bigger fools.
Meanwhile back at the ranch SR has laid it out. It may not be blueprints, but it is damn closer to any thing else I have ever received from "cooperating" technology companies as to the specifics of their great inventions. Perhaps I expect too much. The company is private so there is no opportunity to satisfy greed.
I claim SR is the revolution initially suggested and everyone from CSCO, CIEN, to LU, NT, and FORE, whether any of them wish to believe it or not, is going to be tremendously impacted. The threat to all of them is staggering. In a few months we will know which companies will be the beneficiaries. Then we will see how the others try to invoke government to force "fairness" which is this era's swan song of competition. |
