ggggggggggg i'll say I would not try it, mind you legend over here is that in the North a wet man is a dead man.

" bozzo ice fishermen put their fishing holes right on and beside the winter road " must have been a sight seing the water spurt out when the trucks came by !

you have said things I have witnessed but never really noticed : like the flooding of ice and the 'ice cube chime music' in spring.

we do have an ice road over here over the Ottawa river,for cars & light trucks, about 1.5 k long, but they close it pretty fast after the temp goes above -10 -5 (?) cant recall, maybe this ice wave thing gets worst when the ice warms up
