A friend of mine brought his black lab along on a kayaking trip last year. Dog was running around while we set up; we pushed off into a reasonably serious rapid and the dog jumped right in after us. Came out the other side with a big, goofy, smile on his face. The same dog will will dive down to the bottom of a pool to fetch a rock. It's not generally the same rock you threw, but he always comes up with something. I want to teach him to come up with fish.
