Up or down, it is never a straight line. Despite a spike here or there, the market will be in a sustained decline phase for some time because of the possibility of rising interest rates. Greenspan and the Feds the third rate cut last November was overdone and needs to be reversed as indicated in his testimony. It was a bad move by Greenspan last November, and it pumped too much money into the market and the economy and created a bubble, the Greenspna Bubble (called by many), which he does not know how to poke it.
