JK, I am not sure the FTC chairman has any control over the MSFT but does over the INTEL trial.
However comments like his can start a "wave". We will see a lot more opposition to the DOJ and FTC suits as soon as the intel trial starts.
It will appear as a great opportunity for politicians to show how these agencies run by the White House are against "capitalism"---which is a sacred word in the USA.

Just imagine the two most dominant PC related companies the US has are being persecuted by the government. No other country would even consider as action that could hurt the global dominance of one of their own. If MSFT was based in Japan or Germany, can you imagine the outrage if their governments try to hurt their global dominance.

It is too bad the DOJ etc. think America is a bubble. If this persecution is very successful, say goodbye to American dominance in this area------we will be buying Japanese, German, French etc computers with imported(from US point of view) PCs, CPUs, O/s etc.

I hope your politicians are smarter than this------I think over the next few months we will find out that they are pretty smart.-they will come to their senses. I am confident of this.
