Travelers Property Casualty Launches Campaign to Promote Worldwide Coverages for Multinationals Business Wire - February 25, 1999 17:30 HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 25, 1999--In a series of advertisements that will appear in national publications, Travelers Property Casualty (NYSE:TAP) is telling multinational companies it can help them succeed by meeting their global risk management needs in innovative ways.
The advertising campaign, which will break in the March 15 edition of Fortune, will be featured during the year in other major business and insurance publications. These publications include Forbes, CFO, Treasury & Risk Management, the Economist, Business Insurance and Best's Review. The campaign was developed by Merkley Newman Harty, New York City.
The advertisements put the spotlight on the global coverage capabilities of Travelers Property Casualty, made possible through its relationship with Winterthur International, a business unit of the Swiss-based Winterthur Insurance Group. The advertisements also discuss Travelers' financial strength through its affiliation with Citigroup.
The first ad in the campaign features a map of the world. A point in the United States is labeled "You." A point in Australia is labeled "Your problem." The headline reads, "It's a small world. Until you have a product liability problem on the other side of it."
The text of the ad stresses Travelers' commitment to meeting the needs of large multinational customers. In part, the ad copy states, Travelers can "design and deliver cutting-edge products specifically tailored to your definition of risk. Together, we can anticipate potential problems and develop solutions that are aligned with your strategic direction -- not ours."
The ad copy concludes by saying, "Changes will continue. Doesn't it make sense to have a risk management partner who's ahead of them."
C. Timothy Morris, CEO, Travelers National Accounts, the business unit responsible for large commercial customers, said, "This advertising campaign makes it clear that we are prepared to meet the evolving needs of multinational corporations as we move into the global economy of the 21st century. This means working with brokers to provide integrated risk management programs that combine traditional insurance coverages and services with protection against financial and operating risks that impact the bottom line."
"Travelers has the expertise, technology and commitment to customer service," Morris said, "to help multinational companies establish and maintain a consistently high level of risk management standards in all parts of the world."
