The HP Reorganization... Reading Between The Lines... Not too long ago--maybe a week ago--there was an article in our Austin American Statesman about a woman named Livermore who is seen as an heir apparent to the Platt throne (such as it is) at HP. It is she who heads the Enterprise group... and she who is pushing HWP into a stronger marketing orientation. The rap on HWP for years has been that the company has great technology but LOUSY marketing. I think we are going to see a pretty big marketing push right around the corner for HWP... linking it squarely to the "new economy" and e-commerce. I know of two fascinating products that, were I marketing for HWP, I'd be jumping on in a very big and very public way... Web QoS (Quality of Service--a way of prioritizing Web traffic and ensuring quicker, better, more reliable service... and, of course, VerSecure...
