How does delivery time compare? You can get books from Amazon in 2 to 3 days.<

Buy.com is an I-nut company, so of course it has no profit margins. It is not yet public but I assume it will go before the bubble pops. Their "business plan" is to sell at cost and make money off of adds. I know it sounds stupid but they have deep pockets behind them including softbank (major YHOO investor). As for their service it is not up to AMZN's standards but it is improving. It takes about a week to get books. They do seem to have unbeatable prices on a wide range of products. I recommend you shop there before it goes bankrupt. Here is a great piece from Fortune on Buy.com.
