David, thanks for breaking the monotony of this stupid bickering match we seem to have going on. I will re-affirm: Of what I understand of the technology, in talking with Sam Shanks at length, and after doing as much DD as I know how from technical and non-technical sources, I truly believe that the technology LGPT has developed has advantages that many companies would highly desire.
We have talked in the past, thanks to mnispel and others, about what the advantages are: Greatly increased speed and reduced silicon area are two of the key features that alone could mean hundreds of millions to a company in technological advantage and cost. With time analysts have speculated that floating-point types of applications will become more and more desirable for PC, workstation, embedded systems and the internet. This is just beginning with the Intel Pentium III and the AMD K6-III who's key marketing thrust is enhanced graphics, 3D, etc. = floating-point.
The main challenge as it always has been is marketing strategy, business plan, funding and execution. From the tone of recent news releases from the company, it appears that things may be starting to come together.
Also, I know that the leaders of this company are honest, trustworthy, highly intelligent people who are working with the share holders interests as a high priority. If the technology proves to be the breakthrough that has been discussed, and the company effectively executes it's plan, then the actions of a few crooked brokers aren't going to mean a thing.
GO LGPT!!!
