Paul,

Intel's 0.25u process technology has been fabulous. Their 0.18u process should be feared by all. Too bad their design engineers are not nearly as good as their process engineers. If they were AMD would not have a chance. As it stands, Intel has let AMD continue to have life with the K7. If Willamette was out now, like it should have been, AMD would be dust. But it is not. Why? Too many market segments? Merced? Whitney? How could AMD come out with a 7th generation processor before the mighty Intel? And please, don't give me that crap about where can I buy a K7! The bottom line is that Intel has world class process engineers that can not be matched. I wish I could see the models they use for simulation. Too many companies keep the the spread between the low and high current models too large; only to cover the asses of the process guys. This handicaps the design guys. I suspect this is not the case at Intel.

Pravin.
