This was in the January Canadian Security Journal of Protection. Could this be the good news we have been waiting for? Mytec has worked with Entrust for some time now.

Or is this yet one more way to make the wheel for security. Last night I read an artical about the pentium 350 Plus computers. It seems someone took it apon themselves to plant a serial number on the chip that other can access.

The idea being the banks could use this to verify user id's as well as locations. The problem now is anyone with the program can do the same thing but unlike the past computers you have a huge back door now.

Entrust Awarded Government Contract

Ottawa ON- Entrust Technoligies has been awarded an Ontario Government contract to protect the privacy and authenticity of its internal and external communications using Entrust's Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions.

By using data encryption and digital signature technology, people living in Ontario will be able to recieve secure electronic delivery of provincial services such as ServiceOntario and Ontario Business Connects, a service that allows businesses a more streamline method of registering a business.

The provision of PKI hardware, software and systems internet access and internet e-mail, and will enable the government to save tax dollars in the long run by replacing costly, paper based business processes with the secure electronic transfer of information.
