Hi Richard,
Some of the troubles here lately have pointed out how important it is for everyone to have a bootable floppy that loads your CD drivers. I also ran into some of the same types of problems lately (was trying to load a copy of an OSR2 version of Win95 (FAT32) onto a new hard drive when my system and all my start up disks were for the original Win95 (FAT16). But the start up disk that came with OSR2 must be bad, and I for the life of me couldn't make a start up disk that would work.)

So if you get some time, could you post what files should be on a start up disk, and what your autoexec.bat and config.sys files should look like to load everything you need, including the CD drivers. Or if there is an easy way to make a start up disk with everything you need.

Also, to my problem, is it possible with Win95 OSR2 on a CD (with no start up disk), and OSR2 FAT32 running on one machine and the original Win95 FAT 16 running on the other, to make a start up disk on either machine that will load the OSR2 version onto the machine running the original FAT16 version? I spent three days trying to figure out how to do it, and couldn't do it. So it's probably a retorical question now, since I broke down and reformatted the hard drive annd partitioned it with FAT16, and am just using it for extra storage space. It's probably not worth the agravation now of reformatting and trying to get the OSR2 FAT 32 OS on it.

Thanks for all your great input on this thread,,

Steve
