More on AOL - (don't worry, I will not make this the "shadow" AOL thread).

Actually, I use the word "moron" in a "hey, everyone is a moron sometimes" - type mode of thinking.

When my wife and I got our computer (November 1995), we immediately chose AOL. But, within a few months, it was clear we had "out-grown" AOL, and switched to a real ISP.

A point I have NEVER (yet) heard raised about AOL is the following : pretty much everyone who learns how to "navigate" around the Internet would always be migrating from AOL to a real ISP (and never the other direction) -- so, aren't the long term optimistic growth projections for AOL hopelessly flawed ?

(I have this feeling that the mathematics of predicting AOL subscribers five years out might require differential equations, with input factors like "degree of (computer) moron-osity.")

Jon.
