Mike,
It looks like these two companies are in the process of putting together a platform for "distance learning". I would think that this would be in direct competition with our E-School, which uses HyperTv as it's platform.
"Video is the single most important decision support and distance learning medium in use today by the corporate enterprise," said Paul Lego, chief executive officer of Virage. "As such, the need to manage that information so that it can be easily accessed and deployed is critical. Combining searchable video from Virage with TEAMS'leading media asset management solution provides Global 2000 companies with a competitive advantage in their marketplace."
"Virage is the pioneer and recognized market leader in video and image search products. Virage's VideoLogger and AudioLogger software set the standard for real-time indexing and distribution of video across the Internet or corporate intranets and Virage has been named the market winner by industry analyst group Frost & Sullivan. Virage customers include ABC News, AltaVista, BBC, CBS News, CNN, CNN Interactive, Compaq, Federal Bureau of Investigation,General Motors, Harvard Business School, Lockheed Martin, Lucent Technologies, NASA, NBC News, Reuters and several classified U.S.government agencies."
