*OT* Good point, John. While MonicaGate caused significant disruption, what concerns me more is the current administration's apparent interest in implementing Smoot-Hawley II. We all learned, I hope, how *wonderfully* trade barriers worked to really get the Great Depression into full froth. Unfortunately, enough time has probably passed so that a repeat of the lesson might be at hand.

The concept of basic supply and demand, free trade, seems to be too simple and devoid of bureaucracy to be of much interest to governments.
