Poland Sees 10% Rise in Number of Gas Stations in 1998 vs 1997, Paper Says
Warsaw, Feb. 26 (Bloomberg) -- The number of gasoline stations in Poland rose by 10 percent annually over the past three years to total 6,324 stations last year, 557 more than a year earlier, the Polish daily Rzeczpospolita reported. Rafineria Gdanska SA and Petrochemia Plock SA, two biggest Polish refineries, own the largest number of stations. Foreign companies are led by BP Amoco Plc, which owns 92 stations, while the second biggest owner is Statoil with 85 stations, followed by Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. with 77 stations and Aral with 52 stations, the paper said.
