Siebe and Echelon Team Up to Deliver Open, Interoperable Control Networks with the IA Series and LonPoint Systems
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 1999--Echelon Corporation (Nasdaq:ELON - news) and Siebe Environmental Controls announced today that they have entered into a distribution and marketing agreement to accelerate the adoption of open, interoperable building control systems based on LONWORKS® technology.
Under the terms of the agreement, Siebe Environmental Controls will market and resell Echelon's LonPoint System and LonMaker(TM) for Windows® Integration Tool through its worldwide channel of over 200 Field Offices for use with Siebe's LONMARK® and LONWORKS® compliant I/A Series® Building Automation System. This new system is designed to deliver open, interoperable, and scaleable solutions to any size facility and make it easier for building owners worldwide to enjoy the benefits of open control systems.
These products will form the backbone of open, integrated building automation systems incorporating LONMARK products from Echelon, Siebe Environmental Controls and other vendors. In addition, Siebe Environmental Controls and Echelon have agreed to jointly develop marketing programs intended to increase the specification and adoption of open control systems using LONWORKS technology in the building controls market.
