steve,

what a great suggestion. no, i do not currently have ie4.0 installed on this machine. but i did, for about an hour, and it was wreaking havoc. so i uninstalled it. kept ie3.0. i rarely use ie, so i didn't care if i had the latest version or not. i believe now, in looking back, that the conflicts and probs i had with ie4.0 were due to me not closing enough programs (particularly antivirus apps) during the install.

but maybe there are some files still left on my machine from ie4.0 that are doing exactly what you state. do you know where i can access this option setting?

regards,

mark
