Hi savo,
It's always nice coming to a board, where you post (your posts on ORCTF and DSPG are always full with great info).
the coolteaklite new was nice... it's nice to see the guys are always working on the next generation cores (so future licensing rev. will continue growing). Regarding orctf/fujitsu, we know they did license oak in the past, and I would hope to see them license more cores in the future. I believe we could see Fujitsu start paying royalties by Q2, as I believe they are already selling product using oak.
I don't think we'll see the relationship with AMD extend much beyond this acquisition. I know both companies have been working on this project together for some time, and DSPG decided it would be better to own the product and the development team. But, heck, one can never know. I, for one, expected this deal (which the company hinted about in the CC) was going to be with NSM or MOT, but was wrong. So, I'm the wrong guy to be answering that question.
The article about Symbol's VoIP product was interesting. Great to see DSPG's IC in the terminal. I'll remind you that DSPG own 30% of Audio Codes (rumors about an IPO are all over the place), which makes IC's for VoIP applications. Audio Codes' products are for the gateways and central units, while DSPG's IC is for the terminals (handset). So, DSPG is a big player in this hot market. I believe we'll see Audio Codes go public this year, and I hope DSPG will give us its holdings as a dividend. I'm hearing great things about Audio Codes, and getting shares through DSPG would be great. I believe it's going to be a hot IPO, and DSPG's stake could be worth a lot of money.
OT: Regarding ORCTF and ADSL. I think the next big tender is in France, and France Telecom should announce the winners shortly. There is no question Alcatel will be main supplier (politics is big business in France), but if ORCTF can get its foot through the door, it would be a major success. I still don't understand how AWRE is hanging on to its inflated price. Went short at $39, closed position when it fell to $29. It's back to mid 30's, and am thinking of going short again. what do you think ?
