IF the stock stays below 30, THEN the pref holders will elect not to convert to stock and demand a cash redemption. The company is prepared for this and has a line of credit in place. BUT that will mean an additional INTEREST expense (on the line) which is deductive from stated earnings as are preferred dividends, unlike common stock dividends (which are deductive, but AFTER stated earnings). I.O.W., p/e is less. Duke
