you are supposed to start the count again if the index makes a new high, but I know in at least one case, an interim new high did not matter. But then again, it was not a "crash" situation,

wall street lore says that you are "supposed" to start the count over.

I maintain that a new high doesn't matter. In any case, the NYSE did not make a new high, so under any scenario, the count is on.
