ALL, The Nasdaq dropped their feed for trade updates for stocks with symbols between K - Z today between 11:43 and 11:54 am EST. Quotes (bids & asks & Level II) were not affected - just the transactions. When the feed was restored the queue of trade reports came through in the time & sales reports over the next several minutes starting at 11:55. So, for example, a 1-minute chart will show a gap for the outage period, and all trades that occurred during that period of time were accumulated and reported in the following 2-3 minutes.

Nasdaq gives reporting priority to their quotes feed for bids and asks. Trade reports are often delayed, especially during fast market periods like the Open. This can be seen in a 1-minute chart of any very active stock like DELL - where there is a big move at the open. This underscores the importance of watching the bid-ask spread as being representative of the market. The "last trade" report may have been executed minutes ago.
