"Terms 'gurus' and 'masters'...."
My 10-year-old daughter plays chess a lot, competitively, representing her school. She takes weekly lessons from a 'Chess Master' whose rating is about 2400. He is indeed a master, for he knows chess inside and out, and can easily defeat just about any opponent in a chess match. He knows he is a master, and it's not just some ego thing, it is an obvious fact. Yet he readily admits that he is still learning, as hard as that seems to his students.
If someone were to tell me that there are no 'masters' in the world of stocks, I would have to tell them that they are wrong. If you were to tell me that there are no masters among the 'regular' crowd on the TA Beginners thread, well, that may indeed be the case, but I think otherwise.
I'm certain that at the very least, true masters peruse here, and sometimes even post -- and absolutely do respond with private messages at times. They know who they are, and it's not just an ego thing, but an objective fact.
I recognize the value of the bell by the trueness and fullness of its sound.
I recognize the value of the tree by the flavor of the fruit it bears. |
