It is interesting to note that the deficit is largely accounted for by an increase in defense spending (the Singapore govt has got it down to a very fine art!), and that the adjective "temporary" is used to qualify the phrase "difficult situation"

Please note that topical to the previous discussion on this thread, Singapore is practically ALL middle class.
