Hi, Abilene is now operational: internet2.edu This is the new Internet2 backbone network. OC-48 POSIP backbone with OC-12 and OC-3 links into University GigaPop's. Qwest funded the fiber right of way, Nortel the ADM (layer 2) gear and Cisco the Layer 3 (IP) equipment. The basic Abilene environment is at: internet2.edu Enjoy, John
