More on the Seybold interview:

SH: Which markets benefit most from wireless data?

Andrew Seybold: The only people making money today in the wireless industry are the computer consultants and the folks who write newsletters like myself. That's going to change in 1999 and 2000. I think a company like WirelessKnowledge is going to do an IPO and go public. I think a company like General Magic (will benefit), which does back-end services where they combine both voice and data.

My feeling on the short position is that we won't see the reaction many people may be looking for, short squeeze. If these short shares are from convertible holders, they can cover their shorts without going to market to buy which will not give us any short squeeze. At some point though, I believe there are addititional shares being shorted beyond those of the converts, again assuming it is the converts who are holding all these shorts. So, there will be a squeeze at some point perhaps if we get any rewarding news

But, as people have continued to point out, this is a speculative stock mostly held by people who aren't sure what the future holds and can easily be scared out of their position. So, I suppose the shorts have the edge until we get further information. Still keeps the shares on a spring waiting to be popped. So far, any news story has opened the share price up at least 10%.

Lets hope something comes along soon. A well timed news story before the earnings report would be very nice.

Regards,

Mark
