wwmd - AMD - I have this issue on my watch list, but I won't touch it until it gets back to the 15s or below. They have a good product, that they can't seem to make money on. They are a perfect example of a badly run company. Of course you wouldn't expect much from Intel's competitor, but you would expect them to have a well-run company to milk every possible penny out of their small sales. AMD can't cut it. When the K7 comes out, they'll get a slight boost, but I wouldn't expect much. The K6-3 seems to be a disappointment according to reviews (I didn't get to finish Tom's). The only thing hurting Intel is the idiotic serial numbers on the PIIIs (which someone already figured out how to turn on over the net). For that reason alone, I know many that would buy AMD over Intel (myself included). However, I would take a Celeron 300a (oc'ed to 450) over anything out there. Cheap and fast. Perfect. In other words, I'd avoid them like the plague for now. But that's just MHO... llater, Tony B
