OnlyGains-a quick $900 :) Well you can pay me back by answering this

I've seen so many volume/price run up's into News and the subsequent partial sell off, that would this be a sensible strategy to play in the general sense? What are the probabilities of this type of strategy succeeding? What are the key indicators to look for in addition to volume/price run ups + elevation of interest which can be somewhat assessed by reading the relevant threads on SI and elsewhere?

This is playing the stock very closely I'll admit, where all/part of a holding is sold following News to then be repurchased shortly thereafter at a lower price, if it retraces somewhat of course. It is very risky and I would appreciate your comments. The strategy would only work for stocks that have strong near- to mid-term upward potential I guess.

If anyone else has opinions/comments I'd appreciate them as well.

My view is that it's too risky and that you'll only end up losing in the long run.

OG - it's best to respond to my alias so that I know you have something to ask/share with/tell me, otherwise I may not see it.

Thanks,

David.
