I agree that quick recoveries are better than slow ones. (I know, I was in SIII). I can't say that QNTM is a "better" run company than MXTR or WDC. In fact, WDC has, at least at one time had, very good engineers and was involved in many areas of the tech biz, including chips. I think they are stretched for $$$. As for QNTM and MXTR, they are pure commodity plays to me. Here margins and market share count most. Not technology. Perhaps QNTM is a contender for put shorting. There is a May 10 put: QNQQB. Keep an eye on the premium.
As for VLSI: I've traded in and out of the dog for years. Luckily I was not in before it fell from grace last year. (I wasn't short either, damn). If you are making money on this stock my hat is off to you. I'm only saying that if you missed the ride up, stay away.
