Linux ... Schminux ... show me the money.

I've always thought SUNW was a good play on Linux.

But next week I hope to get a crack at AMAT again.

I'm not even sure the transition from 8 to 12 inch wafers has begun in earnest and "they" are talking about 0.18 micron, 0.13 micron, and 0.10 micron line widths. Sounds like new semiconductor equipment to me.

The cheap PC is here and the appliances will come. Did I read that only one in ten chips goes into a PC?

I don't know if AMD, Cyrix, LSI or IDTI will make "heaps and heaps" of dough but I know who will sell them the equipment to make the chips.

AMAT may not be cheap even at 50 but I think they're in for a good run for the next few years. And Linux helps.

FWIW.

Why is it that a RAID storage company is trading at a 14 PE?

Sounds cheap. I know nothing about it. All I know is EMC is a dominant player and SUNW and DELL are getting more and more into storage products.
